dc.description This quality improvement project follows the framework laid out by the Ottawa Model of Research Use. The setting for this project was Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. The sample consists of 13 anesthesia providers made up of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist’s. In collaboration with the emergency preparedness department, active shooter response recommendations were developed and provided to the anesthesia staff. A focus group discussion was also held to gather data to develop recommendations for an active shooter training program. en_US
dc.description.abstract Anesthesia providers need additional recommendations and education for an active shooter incident in the perioperative environment. Purpose: The purpose of this quality improvement project is to develop an active shooter response guideline for anesthesia providers and provide education on these recommendations to increase staff preparedness at Henry Ford Hospital. en_US
