dc.description.abstract This thesis is an attempt to understand and explore the ideas related to ritual and loss with the manipulation of the built and unbuilt landscape. This thesis looks to investigate the physical aspects of landscape and architecture through the design of three connected places: a chapel, a crematorium, and a columbarium. Through this design process and investigation the author looks to form a connection between physical forms and the nonphysical ideas of ritual, loss, and remembrance. en_US
