dc.description.abstract Hypertension is the most common clinical condition treated in primary care settings. In 2017, the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association published new guidelines for hypertension management and defined high blood pressure as a blood pressure at or above 130/80 mm Hg. Stage 2 HTN is defined as a blood pressure at or above 140/90 mm Hg. Nearly half of adults in the United States (108 million, or 45%) have hypertension (Rubenfire, 2018 & Center for Disease Control, 2020). en_US
