Abstract:
The motivation for this thesis project is an attempt to reintegrate human activity and involvement into Muskegon, Michigan’s waterfront postindustrial sites. The modern post-industrial waterfront is a great resource that provides recreational, educational, and economic opportunities while promoting environmental and climate restoration and resilience. This project specifically focuses on changing the waterfront landscape to allow for a stronger relationship between people, historical post-industrial cultural sites, and water.
