dc.description.abstract The thesis represents the results of comparing and analyzing the social and economic circumstances of Detroit and Pittsburgh over the last seventy years in the effort to demonstrate that Detroit might be comparable to Pittsburgh, thus opening the possibility for Detroit to model urban redevelopment programs after Pittsburgh, which has been generally known for success in that area. en_US
