dc.description.abstract Inpatient falls are preventable hospital acquired conditions that can lead to negative patient outcomes and increased health care costs. Around one million inpatient falls occur every year in the United States (U.S.) and cost the U.S. health care system around 34 billion dollars (Johns Hopkins Medicine, 2021). The purpose of this quality improvement project was to implement a purposeful hourly rounding checklist using the four Ps (pain, potty, position, and possessions) to help decrease inpatient falls on the third-floor medical surgical unit at Beaumont Hospital Wayne (BHW). en_US
